Ian Lavery MP joined students from Morpeth’s Newminster Middle School in Parliament this week to see the work they have done for the Big Bang Competition, in which they will be competing in the final.

The competition celebrates young engineers and the ability of young people to solve world problems such as plastic pollution, a subject the school has done much work on.

Mr Lavery said; “It was an absolute pleasure to join students from Newminster School in my constituency whilst they were taking part in ‘Tomorrow’s Engineers’ week events at Parliament today! Great to see they’ll be taking part in the #BigBangCompetition Finals. Well done Team Newminster”.
