Following the recent Anniversary of the devastating floods in Morpeth, Ian Lavery, MP for Wansbeck Constituency has been continuing his work in Parliament ensuring prevention is in place for future generations to protect towns and communities across Northumberland.

Mr Lavery met with representatives from FloodRe in the House of Commons to hear updates on the most recent plans and work being done.

Speaking after the meeting, Mr Lavery said; “Thanks to the team at FloodRe for a very productive meeting in Parliament where we were able to discuss the advancements in Flood prevention across Wansbeck Constituency, but also specifically those in and around Morpeth. Following the recent 10 year anniversary of the devastating floods in Morpeth, it is more important than ever that we maintain constant contact and receive regular updates with regards to Flood prevention schemes and technological advancements.”
