Deeds, not Words!

It’s the slogan embroidered on the fantastic suffragette banner, created for the ‘Emily Inspires’ group and it was excellent to see that banner proudly displayed this morning at St. Mary’s Church in Morpeth as we gathered to celebrate 100 years since the first women voted.

It gives me great pride to represent the area where the legendary Emily Wilding Davison is buried. Her legacy as an equality activist lives on today as we mark 100yrs since the first women got to vote. These inspirational young women who attended the church service from King Edward VI School in Morpeth are part of our next generation of world changers!
