Ian Lavery today supported a statement by Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn during Prime Minister’s Questions in the House of Commons regarding British Arms Sales to Saudi Arabia.

Mr Lavery said;

“I have just listened to Jeremy Corbyn during Prime Minister Questions, alongside my colleagues on the frontbench as he held Theresa May and the Tories to account for their continued Arms Sales to Saudi Arabia.

British bombs and bullets are being used by the Saudi Regime to kill innocent civilians and children in Yemen. Germany and Denmark have both cancelled Arms Sales to Saudi and now the UK Court of Appeal has ruled in favour of anti-arms-trade campaigners.

Saudi Arabia flouts every single human rights law at home and abroad. The UK has supplied them with over £4.5bn of deadly weapons, used in war crimes against civilians in Yemen. The Government MUST cancel these sales immediately.”
