Morpeth Litter group, in partnership with the Keep Britain Tidy Campaign were joined on Sunday by local MP Ian Lavery to help pick up and tackle litter across the town and the wider area too. Mr Lavery helped collect rubbish dropped around the perimeter of KEVI school and was updated on the progress of the Litter group, who have been increasing their efforts to Keep Morpeth Tidy in recent years.

Speaking at the end of the event, Mr Lavery said;

“This afternoon, I joined Morpeth residents who met up to take part in a Litter Blitz organised by the Morpeth Litter group, as part of the National Keep Britain Tidy campaign! Thanks to everybody across our towns and villages in Northumberland who give up their spare time and weekends to keep our communities clean and safe together.”
