Northumberland MP and Chair of the Labour Party, Ian Lavery, recorded a video message during the celebrations at this year’s annual Durham Miners’ Gala.

Mr Lavery said that the atmosphere at the event itself was as energetic and emotive as ever, talking of his love for the event and the history & heritage it promotes.
