Ian Lavery MP has expressed his thanks to Pegswood and Bothal WI and volunteers, teachers and students from Pegswood First School for sending him a framed reminder of a special event which took place almost a year ago.

When Pegswood First School sent some of its best carol singers along to Parliament, Mr Lavery wanted them to get a good reception, taking them to visit Jeremy Corbyn MP in the Leader of the Oppositions Office. The singing brought festive cheer to the House of Commons and Mr Lavery expressed his gratitude for being presented with a framed photograph to treasure the memory in the future.

“Huge thanks to Karen from Pegswood & Bothal W.I for bringing me a framed print commemorating Pegswood First School’s memorable visit last year to sing Christmas Carols for me and Jeremy Corbyn in Parliament. Thanks again!” – Ian Lavery MP
