Wansbeck MP Ian Lavery joined representatives from the Woodhorn Allotment Association as he heard first-hand the news of their latest project which aims to benefit the wider community and especially vulnerable residents in the area.
After visiting the Allotments, Mr Lavery said; ”
Thanks to the Chair of Woodhorn Road Allotments for inviting me to come and see the potential of their currently undeveloped site.
The team here are hoping to make a space that can be used by Elderly people in the community who are constantly facing the challenges of loneliness and isolation. There is even a toilet on the site!
This is a fantastic idea and I’ll do all I can to support this project and look forward to seeing it develop well into the future.”
